Rehabilitation Centre

About the Project:

Most of the children and youth we support come from poor living conditions mostly brought from the streets of Nairobi. Many of the children that are now attending our Gathiga Hope Home project come from the streets and struggle with substance abuse. These children need support and a proper facility to be able to stabilize themselves before being able to learn and take part in daily life tasks. At the moment many of these children need proper support but our Gatihiga Project cannot meet all the needs since we cater to children who are already rehabilitated.

Our goal is to build a rehabilitation centre for the children from the streets who are fighting substance abuse. Over the last year we were able to raise funding thanks to our volunteers and donors for a property to host the centre. Currently we continue to work to raise funding to expand this goal and begin building a structure for the centre.

Two leading factors in substance abuse are hunger and cold. Building a Rehabilitation Centre for these children to come will allow us to provide support and build a future. It is important for us to build this centre since mixing children and youth that are clean and others that are fighting substance abuse can cause a relapse for the others we support. Separating the rehabilitation centre will allow everyone to continue progressing without putting anyone in harms way.
